The Center partners with a wide variety of community organizations to deliver high-quality, public programming activities and events.

Thought-provoking Community Activities
Celebrate the north woods' nature, culture, and history! The Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center hosts community-based environmental learning programs dedicated to exploring the Region's natural, cultural, and historic resources through recreation, discussion, display, and field study. Choose from a diversity of experiential learning opportunities. Get your 2008 Youth Brochure, available in Adobe Acrobat format.

Summer Northwoods Adventure Series
Join us at the Center for free programs for all ages, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to Noon, June through August! The Northwoods Adventure Series has a variety of topics to explore, explain and demonstrate for all ages to enjoy. Activities and crafts fill the morning with memorable experiences. Topics include native landscaping, animals, bugs, fur trade, area settlement, and visits from Smokey Bear. For questions concerning the summer schedule, please call Katie at 715-685-2645. Coming Summer 2008: Nature Day Camps for ages 3-4, 5-7, 8-10, 11-13. Sessions will be announced early 2008.
